~{.self.}~
We all have different pieces of ourselves. There’s the You from elementary school, the You you created for yourself in middle school, the You you became through high school, the You you want to become, the You you wish you’d been in this situation or that. There are many pieces of You, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t You.
You can walk to the ocean and scoop up a thimble full of water and say you have the sea. Do you have the sea? Of course. You may not have ALL of the sea, but that doesn’t mean the water you do have isn’t real water, isn’t real ocean. Just because you only have pieces of You doesn’t mean they aren’t you, and it doesn’t mean you won’t someday be able to throw yourself into a whole ocean of You. You’ve only to keep trying, keep thinking bigger, broader, deeper.

~{.fire.}~
Red. Orange. Scarlet. Yellow. Crimson. Gold.
People often forget the most important color of fire: blue.
The hottest flames are blue.
But blue is supposed to be cool, comfortable and watery. Why is it that Water and Fire can share a color? Why is it that while Fire can be blue, Water cannot be red?
I am here to tell you that Water is not blue. It has never been blue, it will never be blue. The only blue you see in Water is the reflection from the sky. Water takes on the color of whatever surrounds it. It takes on the shape of whatever surrounds it. It takes on the temperature of whatever surrounds it. Water has no color. It is clear, unshapely and easily manipulated.
Fire has true color. Fire is hot and alive. You can see it, you can feel it, but you cannot hold it. Fire is not something you can put in a glass or cup in your hands. Fire is a reaction. It is burning. It is atoms seizing the moment and exploding with passion. It is pure energy. Fire is its own color. It is its own shape. It is its own temperature. You cannot put your reflection in it, you cannot contain it, you cannot force a temperature on it. Fire is alive and passionate. It is fully Itself and seeks to change the world.
Water and Fire. Two extremes. Two sides. Two options. Two forces. Will you be Water?
Or will you be Fire?
